Dear Jingu,
Greetings from sunny Amsterdam. I hope this message finds you and your family in fine health and high spirits. Summer is a fun time. What is everyone up to now that school is off?
I am leaving for another Jungle Ulua GT surf fishing trip in Java. First angler in this season. Two weeks on the beach... Wish you were coming along. I will report.
Attached you will find photos of Kiwi Kingis.
I caught three from shore this year, first ones since my big one the year we met. The biggest was over 15 kgs caught and released at the famous Rod Holders at Spirits Bay.
The other two came from Parengarenga harbor where we fish the NZ Nationals comp. One of 12 kg from another well known walk in posi called Steamers. It won our club's summer comp Best Traditional Catch (no boat).
The third was 8 kg and I paddles a kayak to my new Secret Spot where I can get them of the sand! Both delicious hamachi sashimi and Kama on the BBQ!!
The others are just dream fish caught and released this year and 2008 at East Cape. Anything is possible Down Under!
How are you getting on this summer? Any Kingi action? Poppers??
Stay in touch...
One Love,
Rob
